How cute is this video! We couldn’t NOT share it! Happy Monday! Enjoy!
If Polish had a football team, the colors would be Coral and Glitter. Our mascot would be a Pygmy. Our cheerleaders would hand out free cotton candy and cream soda! Sophia Grace and Rosie would be our team’s commentators. Everyone would want to come to our football games! All of the fans would understand that it’s just a game and meant to be fun. No one would ever poison the other team’s pretty trees. Everyone would be kind to one another and give one another high fives and hugs. This sounds like the football team in heaven if you ask me! Pure Polished Bliss Sprinkled with Glitter and sunshine!
We hope you’ll come to our football games! They’ll be coming to a city near you. (Not really, but I just wasn’t sure how to end this.)
Happy Wednesday! xoxox

Ok. I’ve seen this braid on famous people and always thought their hairdo person was just a really GREAT fishtail braids but it turns out that this “fishtail” is not a fishtail at all! It’s actually an inverted braid!
My friend, Bevin pinned this to me on Pinterest and I got so excited when I found out just how easy it was to recreate! I almost didn’t want to share it with you. I wanted it to be my little secret but then I thought that that was not very Polished of me so here I am sharing my prize with you! I hope you LOVE it! If you try it, post a pic on your page! We wanna see! Thanks, Bevin for sharing it with me!

Who’s ready for autumn? Pick me! Pick me! I long for the days that I can throw on my skinny jeans and classic riding boots and be chic, comfortable and cool. I hate sweat! Who’s with me!? As our summer days are nearing an end, we look forward to the fashions of fall! What’s trending for Fall 2012? There’s a long list of things. Let’s take a look at a few of Polish’s favorites!
Granny chic is sticking around. Brocade, Florals and fur are on the menu. I think it’s refreshing and feminine. This look also contrasts the other more fierce looks of fall. Here are some of my favorites from the runway –
Another style that’s trending that I LOVE is very Town and Country! Cable knit sweaters, tartan, quilted parkas and orange. This makes me want to go to the mountains with my Brawny man and hang out by a field and stream in my Hunter wellies. See for yourself how a lifestyle is a “look”.
I love how the runway inspires… It sets the tone for the season and influences more affordable brands to make clothing that we folks can afford! Be looking to see how these trends will influence the racks at Polish this fall! We have a lot of new merchandise on the way and we can’t wait for the changing seasons and fashion!
Have a great Wednesday! xoxo

Today’s post is dedicated to the TEACHERS! We adore our teachers! I think we can all think back to our favorite teachers from the time we were in school and how they greatly influenced us. (Hi Mr. Lambert) They spend most of their day molding minds. It’s a tough job and I, for one am thankful that I don’t have to do it. While teachers are teaching the future leaders of America, they want to dress the part! An important job like teaching calls for a comfortable but chic and professional wardrobe. Polish can help you plan out your weeks of teaching. To prove it, we asked our teacher friend, Emily to come by for a Fashion Planning Period! This is what she chose –
I love this dress! It’s very comfortable and could easily be worn into fall with flat boots and a belted cardigan.
This dress is SO comfortable! It’s very soft and it’s another one I could easily style differently as the seasons change.
This outfit is perfect for Teacher’s work day. I especially love the necklace!
Here’s another great teacher’s work day outfit. We are really busy on these days so we need to dress comfortably but professionally. I love these shoes because they have a lower wedge that is perfect for teachers! Still a heel — but not too high!
This is a great basic black dress that I can style so many different ways! I can wear it into the fall by adding a denim jacket and cute scarf with tights and boots… or I can wear it with cute sandals or wedges with a giant chunky necklace. This dress would be great for a teacher!
Polish is a great place to shop. The prices are affordable and the clothing is pretty! Stop by and let them help you with your fashion planning period!
Thanks, Emily, for coming by and planning with us! We hope you and all of the teachers have a great school year!
Love always, Polish.
Nothing says “Summer” like a cute pair of cut-offs! If you remember, one of our very own Polish gal’s made a pair for herself and they were precious. They have a very”All American girl” look to them. Well, if you liked them you are in luck! We found an awesome tutorial on Hello Giggles that goes through the steps! Check it out:
I call denim cut-off shorts THE summer style staple – at least they are for me. You can witness my love for the jean short in many of my OOTD posts. Obviously jean shorts are made from, duh, jeans! To get them perfectly distressed and just the right hue of blue is a little more of a project, but so fun and so DIYable!

We just HAD to share this! It was too true and funny not to!
Remember, girlies.. the guy should pursue YOU! Not the other way around! And… if the guy is interested in you and is too afraid to tell you, then you don’t want to be with him anyway! Maybe a little old fashioned but it IS the Truth! Men, MAN UP! 🙂 xoxoxo
When it comes to painting my nails, I usually lean towards nails that are too over the top. I really like this manicure because they painted all of the nails the same shade and have one accent nail. So it’s not over the top and is very pretty! I alos LOVE the color combo! Try it! (From Beautydepartment.com)

You gotta love those magical moments when you’re just minding your own bizz and inspiration jumps out and smacks you right between the eyes. Not long ago I was looking through floor patterns for a home project. My favorite pattern in the world is called the “herringbone pattern”. While I’m speaking to this flooring guy, all I could think about is making this pattern into a manicure. As he started demonstrating the way it gets laid down, I only saw colorfully painted nail strips. Sorry dude. Eventually I snapped back into floor mode, but it makes me remember that inspiration can come from anywhere at any time and you have to be open-minded to it! Here we go…
NOTE: Before you start, use one of your polish colors as a base for your nails about an hour before (or the night before) so they have plenty of time to dry before you apply the nail strips!
Tah-dah! Keep your eyes peeled for pattern inspiration always! Can’t wait to see your herringbone manis on twitter!
